Our Birth Story
Despite eating well and exercising throughout my pregnancy, my blood pressure began to creep up around 38 weeks. Hypertension had never been an issue for me in the past and fortunately I wasn’t having any other signs or symptoms of preeclampsia. To be honest, I felt great.
I began to drink linden tea, take magnesium and passionflower and hawthorne tinctures. I ate watermelon and took garlic capsules. I did yoga, deep breathing, and went for walks. On January 5th, 2022 (at 39 wks and 4 days pregnant) I couldn’t sleep in and I went for a walk at dawn. I drank my linden tea as I admired the dew on the leaves of the plants in our rural neighborhood in the mountains of Puerto Rico. Plants whose names I was still learning. I gathered some beautiful seed pods and asked my baby to please come out now.
I got home, the others in the house still asleep. I peed. I sat still for 5 minutes with my legs uncrossed. I breathed. I took my blood pressure and it was the highest it had ever been. I woke Maru and we decided to go to the hospital so I coudl get stat preeclampsia labs done.

Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
